Tebow to Jets: Jacksonville’s Future
I’m a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan, and I love Tim Tebow. However, I think this worked out for the best — for all parties involved.
There is just a lot of uncertainty when it comes to Tim Tebow. Can he repeat last year’s success? How much of last year’s success was attributable to the Denver Bronco’s defense? Denver’s running game? Opposing teams being caught off guard? Can he continue to win with his unorthodox style of quarterbacking? Will he develop into a better passer? Continue reading

Roger Goodell Should Have Let Players Handle ‘Bounty’ Punishment
I’m not going to pretend that I know more than NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. He’s a smart guy. He was presented all of the facts. He personally knows all of the parties. And at the end of the day, he was appointed to role of decision-maker because he, above all, understands how to make the NFL better. And it has certainly worked. The NFL is the highest-rated and most popular sport in America. But despite what I believe were his best intentions, the punishments handed out today to the New Orleans Saints were ridiculous.
Everyone is probably familiar with the story by now. The Saints defense operated a bounty system over the past three seasons that compensated players for injuring the opposition. For example, if you knocked the QB or another star player out of the game you might collect $10,000.
And this led to quite the punishment. Continue reading

Dwight Shmight: Why The Magic Won’t Win With Howard
The Orlando Magic will not win an NBA Championship in the foreseeable future.
This fact became glaringly clear to me after watching Dwyane Wade single-handedly put the boots to the Magic in the closing moments of Sunday night’s loss to the Heat. Now that the “Dwight fight” is finally over and we know that the Magic will finish the season with virtually the same team that got bounced out of the first round by the perpetually middling Hawks, I find myself suffering from a distinct case of deja vu. Somebody At ESPN Mobile Is Very Confused
I guess the whole Payton/Peyton thing could be a bit confusing. Either that or they didn’t have any pictures of Sean Payton because he was too busy offering bounties… Continue reading

Broncos Should Keep Tim Tebow As Their Closer
Of all the choices Peyton Manning could have made about where to continue his career, Denver was by far the most controversial. Thank goodness Peyton doesn’t care about controversy.
After surprising reports yesterday, today Peyton made it official by inking a five-year, $96 million contract with the Denver Broncos. Despite the fact that most people thought the San Francisco 49ers presented a better option for Peyton to win immediately, the consensus is that in Denver he has good pieces around him, an above average defense, and an offensive coaching staff that will not be afraid to turn over the reigns to him (…cough cough…Jim Harbaugh…cough cough…).
