Ridiculous Video: Surfer Garrett McNamara Sets Record By Riding 78-Foot Wave
Next time you’re thinking about a nice little beach vacation, you might want to rule out Nazaré, Portugal as a possible destination.
Last November at that very location, a surfer named Garrett McNamara (who has been described as “legendary” several times) rode what was unofficially called the largest wave ever surfed. Last week that claim was substantiated, and McNamara now holds the Guinness World Record after riding the wave that was measured at 78 feet by the Totally Tubular Big Wave Surfing Division at Guinness. The NHL trade deadline came and went on Monday as a number of teams added pieces for that final playoff push. The Sad State Of Sports In Los Angeles
This past week the greater Los Angeles area was ravaged by robust winds that left thousands without power and caused massive trees to be uprooted and fall on everything from cars to houses. But that disaster paled in comparison to what I had to endure on Saturday when I watched the UCLA men’s basketball team lose to Texas.
