Five Emotional Moments You Will See In Every NBA Playoff Montage

The beginning of the playoffs is an exciting time for any NBA fan. One reason is because the last two months have been so boring that we welcome any semblance of basketball games that actually mean something. And don’t try to tell me that you were genuinely entertained by the Charlotte Bobcats’ race for all-time futility, the heated race for the eighth and final playoff spot between the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets, or the Golden State Warriors’ desperate attempt to lose as many games as possible with the hopes of retaining their right to this year’s first round draft pick. Why Can’t The ESPN Commercial Creators Write Everything On Television?

The debate rages on about ESPN. While every sports fan gives thanks that there’s a network out there dedicated to 24/7 sports coverage (how else could we get our fix of the Lumberjack World Championships?), but some critics argue that the “Evil Empire” has created a monopoly on sports coverage that leaves us subject to their discretion, opinions, and bias.

Of all the choices Peyton Manning could have made about where to continue his career, Denver was by far the most controversial. Thank goodness Peyton doesn’t care about controversy.

After surprising reports yesterday, today Peyton made it official by inking a five-year, $96 million contract with the Denver Broncos. Despite the fact that most people thought the San Francisco 49ers presented a better option for Peyton to win immediately, the consensus is that in Denver he has good pieces around him, an above average defense, and an offensive coaching staff that will not be afraid to turn over the reigns to him (…cough cough…Jim Harbaugh…cough cough…). Video Throwdown Showdown: Gerald Green Vs. Vince Carter

The great thing about sports is that even the most pedestrian of games presents us with an opportunity to see something we have never seen before. Such was the case this past Saturday when Gerald Green gave us a reason to talk about an otherwise humdrum game between the New Jersey Nets and the Houston Rockets.

My buddy Gale posted it on Facebook saying it was probably the best in-game alley-oop he had ever seen. I am inclined to agree, but I also remember a certain Vince Carter dunk that may be a contender. Below are the two instances of lunacy. You be the judge. Continue reading
